Our Certifications & Qualifications

New Jersey State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.
Ameri-Search is a member in good standing of this organization. Where as only a few months of training is needed to become a licensed NJ Inspector, NEW Ameri-Search Inspectors are required to complete a one year program.

Following this, one year of performing home inspections under the direct supervision of a licensed home inspector is required. Also necessary is passing a very comprehensive home inspectors exam that covers code of ethics and inspection standards.

The American Society of Home Inspectors ® Standards of Practice are the proven inspection standards and guidelines used to perform the visible home inspection. ASHI is the "leader in the industry". ASHI is the only nationally recognized professional home inspectors organization that requires its members to pass a series of rigorous tests.

ASHI is a private voluntary organization that sets a meaningful set of standards and code of ethics in a business that generally has few rules and regulations. While most states do not require licensing, ASHI standards are higher than states that do. They must also have have extensive inspection experience and obtain continuing educational credits each year to maintain certification. Ameri-Search is an active member of ASHI.

The ASHI "Code of Ethics" also ensures that the inspector is working for your best interest during the inspection of the house and property. The only compensation that is received by the inspector is from the home inspection itself.  This ensures an objective assessment of the property. No kick-backs or referral fee's are ever permitted. Please use the hyperlink above to go to the ASHI site for additional consumer information.

"Independent Inspectors of North America." Ameri-Search is a member of this  organization. These home inspection companies do not actively solicit realtor referrals to obtain inspections. What this means to the home buyer is an honest and  thorough inspection when using an independent inspector.  Don't forget,  the listing realtor usually works for the seller. The above link has some very interesting testimonials from home buyers and inspectors throughout the country.

H.U.D. 203(k) Consultants. Ameri-Search participates in this program that can be used  when purchasing a house that needs major improvements where a typical mortgage company would not approve the loan. A typical home inspection can be substituted with a work write-up, which consists of all major items to be repaired.

HUD 203(k) loans can also be used when remodeling you home. The idea is to have the installation reviewed and approved by a HUD Consultant before funds are issued by the bank. The HUD Consultant acts as a go-between between the contractor and the homeowner. You can be assured the work will be done properly.
